Why Coaching is so Valuable…

Life Coaching is very different from consulting, mentoring, therapy, or counselling. The coaching process addresses specific personal or business projects, general life transitions, events and relationships, by examining what is going on right now in the present, establishing and assessing what the obstacles or challenges might be, and empowering the client to choose a course of action to improve their life and make it what they want it to be.

As a qualified coach I have the ability to help others make a real difference to their own situations, by learning new techniques to live their lives to the full and realise their potential. I am also a qualified NLP Practitioner, which is a valuable support to coaching. NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) acknowledges that people are all different, it is about 'un-sticking the stuck', NLP is the influence of language on our mind and subsequent behaviour. There is a great saying 'if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got'. Coaching and/or NLP could help improve your situation.

If there is something that matters to you, but you cannot see a way to resolve it, then coaching could have a very positive impact on your life too. I am highly trained and can coach superbly on any aspect of life.

Sometimes it is hard to be specific at first, maybe one of these areas of life is relevant for you to explore further?..

How Does Coaching Work?

My skill is to know the right questions to ask at the right time, to have the right tools and techniques to empower you to find those answers within yourself.

You are the only expert on you. Only you truly know what you need. You can recognise what is absolutely best for you. I am simply the facilitator in the coaching process. As your coach, I will help you discover what your own personal "best" might be.

Every day we make thousands of decisions, these choices range from the trivial to life changing, each choice has an effect on our lives to make them more or less fulfilled, more or less balanced, more or less effective. I will enable you to think about your situation from a number of new perspectives which will help you to develop a new different strategy.

You need to connect to make a change happen. Life is demanding, at one time or another everyone needs support of some kind, people closest to you can be too close. A life coach can view your situation with a fresh pair of eyes and ears. I will support you without judgement.

This is my personal invitation to you, to work with me…

I can help you to become your Personal Best. I will support you, from where you are now, to where you want to be. If you are ready and really want to achieve your goals, only you can make that happen, it is your life, make it what you want it to be, life is too short to be a spectator.

About NLP

NLP will...

  • Be offered to complement coaching if the situation would benefit from any of the techniques
  • NLP uses techniques modelled on excellence often called a 'psychology of excellence'
  • Discovering and taking on beliefs, values, behaviours and mental sequences found in people who are outstanding.
  • NLP teaches new skills and ways to approach your behaviour through different techniques, enabling you to choose the best way forward for you, which previously may not have been learned or considered.
  • NLP acknowledges that people are all different; NLP is the influence of language on our mind and subsequent behaviour.

  • ANLP has a Code of Ethics, which I practice.

How NLP works...

  • Firstly it is very important to ensure the outcome that you want does not conflict with your value and belief system, otherwise the outcome will not be achieved
  • We will work together to recognise the impact of the change before it occurs by making internal and external checks
  • To assess the potential effects on you and those around you to reaffirm the change
  • It is important to spend time clarifying your expectations to ensure the required outcome or goal before we take action
  • Using sensory and behavioural flexibility I work both from a physiology and psychological level to ensure the goal or outcome will increase the level of choice for you

I found coaching helped me to reflect on the complexity of tasks I want to achieve or undertake in my life. Coaching enabled me to be more effective with forward planning my time and allowed me to focus on realistic timescales for me. Working with Jane helped to positively reinforce what I am currently doing well and acknowledge what I have already achieved. I also found that coaching has helped me to recognise things that I want to achieve in the future and working with Jane I now have the tools to achieve this

I have found coaching very helpful, I am the sort of person that leaves things that need doing to the last minute!, Since I have been working with Jane I have had a few urgent things that have needed to be done, Jane has taught me how to write things down day by day and prioritise, I find this very helpful and it has enabled me to reach my goals, coaching has made me happy instead of stressed, I need help with motivation and Jane has helped me by showing me different tools I can use to help

Jane has given me support, guidance and belief. She has supported me along each step of my chemo, without letting me forget what it is all about and what my final goal is. Jane has made this most complex issue easy for me to understand. It has been like having a large ball of string which she has helped me to unravel and make sense of

Over the last six sessions of life coaching with Jane, I have been able to set and start working towards personal goals that I have set myself. I have been able to achieve this with Jane showing me ways in which I can make my goals achievable for me. I am also able to manage stressful situations more positively, which has had a huge impact on my life both mentally and physically. I now feel that I am in more control of my life and the way in which I want to live it

Coaching has made me stop and think about what I was and was not doing and why. I realised how much emotions affected what I did and what was stopping me. Coaching made me recognise that I do have a lot on with the house renovations and impending move, a new baby and full time job. Coaching has helped me to prioritise and ask and accept help from others. It also made me put me first in terms of achieving weight loss and making time to reflect at the end of the day, coaching and working with Jane has made me calmer and very importantly provided me with a feeling of being in control

J Kalirai-Thomas
I have thoroughly enjoyed my coaching experience with Jane. She was consistently caring, supportive and always enthusiastic, hence lifting my spirits at times if I was ever down as a result of a 'bad day' at work. I have always been goal orientated before the coaching sessions and was not sure how I would benefit, but after having six sessions with Jane I have realised that I have increased my motivation and ambition levels and have prioritised my actions with the help and support of Jane, I have leant a lot more about myself and would definitely recommend Jane as a coach

S Clarke
On the first session I had many things I needed to do but never knew where to start, Jane has made me realise that things are achievable with a bit of planning and organisation. By my last session I had achieved all of the things I had set out to and more. I have found working with Jane to be a fantastic way of organising my time. My family are now much happier and so am I. I recommend that everyone, even if you do not think you would benefit for coaching, to take an hour of their time to see a coach namely Jane as the benefits are amazing

My Inspiration

My Dad and best friend Caroline are my inspiration and also what drives me to help others and keep their memories alive. Sadly they are no longer with us and do not have the choices we have to live fulfilled, happy, content lives. Although their far to brief time on this earth did not stop either of them from making a big positive impact themselves, living very fulfilled lives in the short time they had with us.

So many amazing people; in the NHS, at Pilgrims Hospice and especially our Shepway District Nurses have all touched my family and me with their selflessness, humility and empowering dignity, which also has driven me to do something meaningful in some small way, with my life.

I have a burning desire to give something back to the World; I have been blessed with a skill to help empower others, to find their own fulfilment and happiness. I am very motivated by developing people and supporting them to grow.

I believe that you know the answers to every question or challenge you may have in your life, even if those answers appear to be obscured, concealed or hidden inside.

I can help you to become your Personal Best.
I will support you, from where you are now, to where you want to be.
If you are ready and really want to achieve your goals.
Only you can make that happen.
It is your life; make it what you want it to be.
Life is too short to be a spectator.

My Dad Caroline
